X-Large CNC (OpenBuilds LEAD 1515)

Reserve the largest CNC machine at the INNOV8 Lab with a working area of 46” x 49” x 3.5” which is large enough for projects with material measuring 4' x 4'. Carving project files must be preapproved by one of MDC Iowa's INNOV8 Lab staff members or a volunteer CNC subject matter expert. All project materials must be provided unless specific permission has been granted to use existing materials at the lab. DO NOT USE MATERIALS WITHOUT PERMISSION. OpenBuilds LEAD 1515 is compatible with OpenBuilds CONTROL software and other 3rd party software like VCarve. A controller is attached to the CNC machine and can be used to upload your gcode files. If you are not familiar with how to design and export from CAD/CAM software please allow 45-60 minutes of your reserved time to have a qualified INNOV8 staff or volunteer assist you. This equipment may be booked for up to two four-hour sessions per week. If you need more time, please speak with INNOV8 staff.
